Saga of a New Daughter!

We have some dear Christian friends, a wonderful Christian family, who Friday left for China to bring home their new adopted daughter, a trip they have been yearning to make for many months now ever since they heard their adoption efforts were successful. They already have three children of their own and an adopted daughter, and now they are going to bring home another daughter. Their journey and progress is to be logged on their blog site. See their link, "The Vincents" on the side bar.

What a wonderful truth is adoption. Note; no one ever enters heaven without "the Spirit of adoption" residing in their hearts., and without they themselves being the object of God's adoptive actions. Consider and hear the Scripture, and rejoice Christian with thanksgiving!

He [God] predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will,...Ephesians 1:5

But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, in order that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. Galatians 4:4-5

For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!" -Romans 8:15

The truth is that we are not God's sons by native birth, but a new birth is necessary (John 3:3-7). By our natural birth we enter life alienated, hostile and cut off the the life of God, the effects of being born with a fallen/sinful nature (consider such passages as Ephesians 2:1-3). But God in His grace is pleased to proffer us reconciliation and peace through the work of His Son.

That's the good news of the Christian gospel, that God through Christ justifies the ungodly, justifies the one who has faith in Christ Jesus (Romans 4:5). How is that fair you ask. How can a just God justify the guilty, the ungodly? The answer is because He satisfied His just demands, the judgment and penalty of His law violated, by punishing a substitute in the sinners place. And yes, that substitute was none other than God the Son himself. Hence the incarnation story was necessary, the life and ministry of the Son were necessary, and the cross was necessary, if the guilty sinner was to be brought to know and enjoy the blessing of fellowship with God once again (Luke 24:26; Isaiah 53). That is the Christian gospel, that is the good news. Rejoice Christian, and those who hear and know themselves yet apart from faith in Christ, hear and take note. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved (Romans 10:9, Acts 16:31). For, "there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12).
