Normal Monday...
Well (early) Monday morning, Jan 5, and time for an update from our house.
After several weeks of snow and harsh weather we thought things were returning to normal once again, i.e. rain and more rain. But last night it started snowing once again, and this morning we have 2 inches of the stuff laying beautifully white over everything. We still have lots of snow left over from the past snow storms! While it is beautiful and enjoyable, it does complicate 'normal' life patterns such as school and traffic. Sara is supposed to return to school today, but with this new snow they may cancel once again. She missed the entire last week before Christmas break because of the snow, so it would be hard for her to miss once again when she is due to return, but we shall see. So far no word one way or another.
And if you have your ear turned to the national weather at all you know we have experienced severe flooding in parts of the Northwest over the last week. Heave rains on top of snow melt sent a lot of rivers over their banks - and we have lots of rivers in the Northwest! - and also many mudslides closed roads, pushed houses off their foundations or wrecked them and generally made life difficult. Here in our corner of Pooseville we haven't had any major problems other than the difficulty getting up and down the hill because of snow and ice. We have been stuck a couple of times and unable to get out of our driveway and culdesac for several days. But we have managed, never lost power, and not fared too bad.
But today is supposed to be a return to normal...but we shall see.
Not much else to report here. I'll close with a pic of Sara's new hair cut. She got a short bob this last week and it looks so cute. She also got her cast off her arm, but has to continue to wear a brace for several weeks yet. She just started learning to play basketball before break and before she broke her arm. That is to pick up once again with their first game this week, so she is excited about all that.
Have a great week. And Mac and Jini, our thoughts as well as our prayers continue with your for a quick and full recovery.
Walt

Its a yucky weather day here in Texas too....gross slow rain that is freezing cold and makes iceicles (sp?) all over our rain gutters.
Sara's hair is cute...reminds me of some of the cuts I used to have as a little kid.
